CEUs
15 Contact Hours (1.5
CEU's)

$159.00
Description:
Mood Disorders and
Anxiety Disorders are the most relevant disorders seen today by mental
health professionals. Mood is a persistent emotional state (as
differentiated from affect, which is the external display of
feelings). The term anxiety refers to many states in which the
sufferer experiences a sense of impending threat or doom that is not
well defined or realistically based.
Our professional staff at CPC have developed a distant learning
program designed to enhance the knowledge and treatment skills of the
mental health professional.
This course will provide
detailed current information on understanding, recognizing, and
enhancing therapeutic skills and treatment plans for those
mental health professionals and forensic counselors who are clinically involved with victims of men. There
is valuable information to assist the forensic psychological
evaluation in profiling, and, assessing the batterer and victim. This course is approved by the NBFE
advisory board as partial fulfillment of the necessary requirements
for credentialing as a Forensic Mental Health Evaluator.
PROGRAM #10
Diagnostic Assessment
CEUs:
30 Contact Hours (3.0
CEU's)
Cost:
$159.00
Description:
NOTE TO CLINICIANS:
Vampire Royalty: The Rebellion, was written as a fiction, horror
novel. However, because of the psychodynamic plot, and the manner in
which the subjects interact and behave, the book and posttest were
forwarded to the National Board for Clinical Counselors (NBCC) for
approval as a homestudy program on diagnostic assessement. Subsequently, NBCC approved this
program for 3 CEU's (30 contact hours) towards state licensure.
The material in
this book may be looked at in two diverse ways. The subject matter is
based on a fictionalized theme with fictionalized characters.
However, the way this book should be considered, is for the clinician
to view the subjects as they would if they scheduled a client for a
mental health assessment. The clinician would interview the client to
determine his current mental status, explore psychosocial information
during the assessment, determine diagnoses, and develop a treatment
plan. It is with this in mind, that the readers must focus their
attention to the intrapsychic dynamics, and interpersonal development
of each character, and their psychological state of mind. The
material, theme and characters, therefore, become real and are the
impetus for the clinicians assessment and diagnoses.
Description: This manual will
provide the veteran forensic mental health evaluator and candidate
for credentialing, with essential clinical material. This
manual will cover a plethora of subjects including: domestic
violence, chemical dependency, competency to stand trial, personal
injury, malingering, juvenile justice, psychopathology, sexual
offenders, involuntary commitment, expert testimony, the written
report, landmark cases, written and oral study guides for the
credentialing process, and forensic mental health evaluation
samples.
Diagnostic Screening Inventory for
Children & Adolescents (DSICA)
DSICA is an easily used screening tool
that collates diagnostic categories according to the DSM-IV. It is
especially useful in delineating symptoms from behavioral characteristics in
children and adolescents who may be suspected of attention deficit,
oppositional defiant, antisocial and conduct disorders from a cluster of
symptomatic complaints listed on Axis I of the DSM-IV. Proper diagnoses
therefore, requires specific clinical data to accurately differentially
diagnose the condition presented to the clinician.
The DSICA has 187 questions that can be
answered on the computer or on a hard form. The hard form can be
easily imputed to the DSICA computer program. Results of the DSICA are
computer generated and collated in a clinical format that allows the
clinician, client/patient, and informant to assess a clear picture of the
client's/patient's psychopathology as it is related to the diagnostic
criteria in the DSM-IV. The results clearly delineate
psychiatric/psychological symptoms from manifest behavioral or
characterological traits.
NOTE
Please provide us with
the program name you wish to have on your DSICA disk with your personal
password. Wewill have your
heading templated on your disk.
CHILD CUSTODY EVALUATORS CERTIFICATION TRAINING TESTIMONIALS
Although licensed mental health professionals may be cognizant of the statutes pertaining to the laws and rules
governing his/her states practice guidelines, and clinical practice
issues pertaining to their level of education, training and experience,
they are generally grossly unfamiliar with child custody issues as it
pertains to assessment, reports, ethical issues, mandatory disclosures,
fees, risk factors, court and legal matters, recommendations, testimony
and a host of other related forensic mental health matters.
The problems licensed mental health professionals face, when asked to evaluate
and testify on behalf of their clients, usually leads to confusion, poor
quality assessments and evaluations, inadequate reports and defective
inept testimony that could seriously jeopardize the outcome of the
trial.
Dr. Norman Hoffman's Child Custody Evaluator's
Certification Training Manual instantly brings into focus, to both
mental health professionals and attorneys, the critical issues which
must be addressed under Florida law in child custody cases.-

with the practical facet of child custody evaluations from the

Dr. Hoffman's training program is an excellent
guide for all mental health professionals and those involved in the
legal profession who work with families going through divorce. This
training reminds/teaches the professional to remain unbiased and keep
the child's interest in the forefront regardless of the emotionality of
the family dynamics. -
