Description

Cannabis is now at least partially legalized in all but 11 of the 50 United States of America, though it remains illegal under federal law.  Given the increase in medical cannabis use, how do forensic evaluators and treatment professionals decide what to do when a client presents with a medical cannabis card?

NBFE provided a webinar on this topic in 2018, but it's time to get updated on the past four years of research!  This 3-hour webinar provides an overview of how to differentiate between recreational, medicinal, and disordered use of cannabis, and how to make sound clinical decisions when clients present with medical cannabis cards.

Note: This webinar is connected to a two-part series.  Click here to register for 2022 Cannabis Update, Part 1: Cannabis Basics, Adverse Effects, Medicinal Uses.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will identify signs and symptoms of cannabis use disorders.
  2. Participants will utilize a decision matrix for addressing clients who present in treatment settings with medical marijuana cards.
  3. Participants will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to maximize clinical outcomes for clients presenting with medical cannabis cards.

Cost

  • $30 for NBFE members (i.e., CFMHEs and CFMHE applicants/candidates) and, for members of  our partnering organizations (see Professional Partners for current listing)
  • $40 for non-members
